A designer born by chance, Maria Sole Cecchi is the Founder and Creative Director of the must have fun-loving luxury handbag brand, Les Petits Joueurs.

Born in 1987, Maria Sole was raised in the beautiful town of Florence, Italy, before moving to Paris at the young age of 20. It was within the late hours of the city of lights where a fashion experiment using LEGOs and an old handbag sparked, and the idea behind Les Petits Joueurs was born.
With LOVE spelled out in colorful LEGO bricks, Maria Sole stepped into the Parisian night scene wearing her first creation, and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of attention it attracted. It’s success resulted in an outpour of personal orders from friends and family.
Following her vagabond instinct, Maria Sole moved to Sao Paulo, where her dedication and hard work as a designer truly took off. Within months, her bags were coveted and worn by Brazil’s most influential it girls, actresses, and models. Maria Sole herself became an instant style icon, conquering the pages and covers of Vogue, Elle, and Harpers Bazaar. She was also nominated Ambassador for Farfetch Brazil and became the face of several other fashion brands due to her popularity.

The exponential growth of the brand brought her back to Florence in 2014, where the bags are produced. Capitalizing on the momentum built in Brazil, Maria Sole teamed up with brother and financial arm, Andrea Cecchi, to launch Les Petits Joueurs first seasonal collection. That same year, the brand hit its global turning point when Maria Sole was invited to participate at Vogue Talents, a competition for promising emerging designers, and won!

The success of her creations is founded on an aesthetic vision of transforming a purse into a quirky statement piece with the utmost care for detail and quality in a 100% Italian made product. Les Petits Joueurs is now
sold in over 145 countries at the most exclusive boutiques and department stores, including Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Selfridges and Luisa Via Roma. Maria Sole’s designs have become street style show stoppers and have been seen on the likes of Jessica Alba, Amal Clooney, Eva Chen, Olivia Palermo, Kylie Jenner, and many more.

Maria Sole’s intuition was the leeway that led to her success. A designer who doesn’t take herself too seriously, Maria Sole continues to playfully surprise and renovate the aesthetics of handbags.
